For the SACMI recycling line, we built a system that tracks every big bag of plastic, from the supplier's truck to the batch of recycled material for food packaging.
Sorted plastic is turned into rHDPE recyclate, which can go back into food packaging. With material like that, the producer has to prove the origin and quality of every batch.
Meanwhile, the material moves in hundreds of large bags through receiving, the lab, sorting, processing and decontamination. Operators work in gloves with handheld scanners, so ordinary forms and keyboards don't work here.

We draw the process rules as state diagrams and generate the code from them, so the diagram and the system never drift apart. A single big bag has 20 states and 8 decision points, and the system won't let you take a step the process doesn't allow.
The system has been in production since 2025. In 14 months we shipped 24 releases, and more than 1,100 automated tests guard the process. For every batch, the quality team downloads a traceability report: source batches, suppliers, quality checks and the full history.
